It's an excuse to get some more transfers or appointment to be done," Chouhan reacted on Congress remarks during proceedings in the Supreme Court on BJP's demand for a floor test.
Earlier, during the day in the Supreme Court hearing on former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s plea seeking directions to the Kamal Nath government to undertake an immediate floor test in the Legislative Assembly, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for the Speaker had sought two weeks time to decide on resignation of rebel MLAs.
Chouhan not only took a dig at the Congress for buying time to stay in power but also said that BJP is relaxed amid proceedings in the APex Court over the floor test.
"We are relaxed, the MLAs are relaxed and looking at the times ahead. The people are also relaxed. The truth will triumph. They want more time because they know that they do not have the numbers. They have lost the majority. It's an excuse to get some more transfers done. We have full faith in the Supreme Court," said the BJP leader.
BJP leaders said that the Apex Court is trying to sort out the entire case through suggestions to communicate with the rebel MLAs and talk to them on their resignation but, the Congress is unwilling to accept any option fearing loss of power. Recent attacks by the Congress workers at BJP's state head office revealed to what extent the Congress can go to save its government.

Meanwhile, security was beefed up at the state headquarters of the BJP and Congress, on Thursday amid ongoing political tension in Madhya Pradesh. On Wednesday Congress workers staged a protest outside the BJP headquarters after their senior leader Digvijaya Singh was not allowed to meet his party's rebel MLAs, who are staying at a resort in Bengaluru.
"We have increased the police deployment outside offices of the BJP and Congress. An additional force of 200 police personnel each has been deployed outside both the offices," said deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Bhopal, Irshad Vali.
